Robert &#8220Bob” Karr, Sr., born on November 5, 1924 in
Kenwood, passed away August 14 at 81. He was born to Rose Brusa
Karr and Henry Karr in the same house and bed as his mother. His
maternal grandparents arrived in Kenwood from Italy and settled in
the Valley of the Moon. Some of his uncles worked in the stone
quarries and helped construct the buildings in Railroad Square and
the Kenwood Depot.
Robert was the adored husband of Jessie (Jasmine Egitkhanoff)
Karr and the father of Dianne, Bill, Rosemary, Bob and Betty and
their spouses Richard, Ann, Robert, Sue and Larry respectfully;
grandfather of Julie, Linda, Shawn, Brian, James, Jason, Aaron,
Rachel, Jered and Lauren; loving great grandfather of Sarah, Andy,
Maria, Andrew, Cheyenne and Ashley; brother of Laura Berringer and
Earl Karr, and deceased brothers Nathan and Bill Karr. He is also
survived by his dog Honey.
Robert was a caring, kind person who spoke encouraging words
with those he knew. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He served in
WWII in the U.S. Navy, owned his dairy and was in the business for
20 years, and also worked in the house moving and construction
business for another 20 years. He loved football, was a star
quarterback at Santa Rosa High School; he was known as
&#8220Speedy Karr.” He belonged to Future Farmers of America,
Boys Glee Club and Civilian Defense. He was a deacon and Pathfinder
youth leader in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Santa Rosa. He
loved working with young people and they loved him. Funeral
services have been held and interment was at Pleasant Hills
Cemetery. Donations may be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church,
840 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa, for the youth missionary group.
