Richard &#8220Dick” Farah died Aug. 3, 2007 after a long
bout with cancer. He is survived by his wife Joanne. Farah was
preceded in death by his brother Jack Farah and his sister Sarah
Smith.  Dick is survived by six children: Richard Farah, Robert
Farah, Roger Farah, Laurie Proctor, David (June) Greger and Herbert
(Sharon) Cabral, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and
numerous nieces and nephews. 
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA. and was raised in Cleveland,
OH. He moved to San Francisco after WWII. In 1969 he moved again to
his ranch in Cotati where he raised hogs and other animals. 
In 1990 he married his wife Joanne and moved to
Sebastopol. After serving in WWII, Farah continued his service in
the California National Guard, retiring with the rank of
Captain. He worked as a power line electrician as a member of IBEW
San Francisco Local No. 6 since 1946. 
Farah was also a member of the Petaluma SIRS No. 100, Sebastopol
VFW Post 3919, Sebastopol Seniors, Penngrove Social Firemen and the
Hessel Grange.
He also volunteered many hours over the years to the Sonoma
County Sheriff’s Office and one of his crowning moments was when he
was selected to be the Grand Marshall for the Penngrove 4th of July
celebration of 2004. A visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 9,
2007 from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. with Graveside Services starting at
2 p.m. at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, Sebastopol.
