Gene Boulware, who has been chef at the Golden Bear for 20 years, expects to re-open Healdsburg House soon. He purchased it from its original owner, Augustine Tito..." The restaurant later became known as Giorgio's.

From Feb. 20, 1975 Healdsburg Tribune: 'For what appears to be the first time in its history, Healdsburg Elementary School will have a behavior code, elementary school trustees decided last Thursday night. The new behavior code was prompted by a petition from 19 faculty members in December that cites “serious problems” occurring “in the classroom, cafeteria and playground.”

The HHS marching band started in 1974 and was made up of the members of Lewis Sbrana’s advanced band class, and interested members of his intermediate class. So far, the band has played at every home game, and they plan to keep up the record.

In news from 1949, Healdsburg has been invited to hold a two-day try-out camp for the New York Giants. In a letter to Art McCaffrey, Mickey Shader, San Francisco scout for the New York ball club, promised this city nation-wide publicity as well as to “give some kids a chance to get started in baseball.’’ ...
