A new record shop is also opening today in Healdsburg — inside a tasting room, of course. It will be called “Vino & Vinyls.” The winery responsible is Montagne Russe, whose tasting room opened a couple of summers ago inside the big Bacchus Landing tasting collective building on Westside Road, next to the animal shelter. They’ll have “2,000 new and used records, available for trade or purchase” — and if you really wanna go wild, you can taste their wines while you shop. We had some foreshadowing to this development: Montagne Russe has been hosting vinyl-themed trivia nights with the same name as the new record shop. The next one is happening tonight, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. — right after the all-day grand opening party for record shop, which lasts from noon to 5 p.m. Winery owners say they want to plan a series of happy-hour events around the whole concept, as well. Here’s some more info on the winery, from their press release: “Montagne Russe is a small winery that specializes in cool-climate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah from primarily the Petaluma Gap and greater Sonoma Coast AVA. … Upon opening, Montagne Russe’s owner and winemaker, Kevin Bersofsky, started his own personal record collection to play at the tasting room. As it grew, people were continuously asking to buy his records… And so began the idea of creating a record shop within the tasting room.” (Source: Wine Industry Advisor & Montagne Russe)
