Event to take place on Sept. 29 at Airport Health Club
On Thursday Sept. 29, the Airport Health Club in Santa Rosa will host a professional exhibition match between two players, both currently ranked in the top 300 in the world. Peter Polansky and Phillip Bester, both members of the Canadian Davis Cup team will be coming to Santa Rosa for an evening of fun and great tennis.
Beginning at 6 p.m. the Canadian pros will be playing a pro-am doubles match with and against a couple of lucky local players who purchased raffle tickets. It’s a great opportunity to match your skills up against some of the best the ATP World Tour has to offer. Once that has finished, Polansky and Bester will play a singles match against one another, which should be a great display of top-notch tennis.
This event is truly one of a kind for Sonoma County and the Airport Health Club is looking forward to this being the first of many exhibitions to come. There will be limited seating so inquire about purchasing tickets and or purchasing raffle tickets to have the opportunity to play a once in a lifetime doubles match.
Admission to the event is $30 for Airport Health Club members and $35 for non-members. Raffle tickets can be obtained for $10 each at the club.
Below is a brief bio on Polansky and Bester.
Peter Polansky
As of July 18, Polansky was ranked #239 in the world in singles and #149 in doubles. He’s won 16 pro events in singles with the most recent triumph coming as recently as July 8 at an event in Canada.
Phillip Bester
As of July 18, Bester was ranked #285 in the world in singles and #174 in doubles. Bester has won nine pro events in singles and actually defeated Polansky in the finals of an event earlier this summer. Polansky might be looking for some revenge in Santa Rosa.
