The Humane Society of Sonoma County is launching a charity veterinary services for pet owners who qualify and need assistance to care for their pets. 
The Community Veterinary Clinic will be open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Mondays starting Feb. 11. Services are offered via phone appointment and walk-ins are first come, first serve. Services may include, for residents who qualify, general wellness exams, vaccines, flea treatments and any necessary medications, dentistry, as well as routine and specialized procedures and surgeries on a case by case basis.

All treatment is provided at the discretion of HSSC’s veterinarians. Each veterinarian will make a determination about the best treatment for your animal and may suggest referral to another veterinary clinic based on the severity of the case. Some treatments may not be available. HSSC is not able to address medical or surgical issues that require overnight care at this time.
Low-cost veterinary services are offered to pet owners who meet the following income qualifications. Qualification prior to appointment is preferred, however will be accepted at time of service.
There are two ways to qualify. The first is if you or another person in your household is participating in one of these assistance programs: CalFresh/Food Stamps, SonomaWorks/CalWorks/TANF, WIC, Free or Reduced Lunch, Medi-Cal, AT&T Lifeline. Proof of participation will be requested with your application.
The second way to qualify is for the combined income of all household members does not exceed the “very low income” limitations by household size below. Proof of income will be requested with your application. These figures range from $28,950 for a single person household to $54,550 for an eight-person household. A family of four’s income cannot exceed $41,300.
