Patricia Phinney, died on June 30 at Apple Valley Nursing Home
in Sebastopol after a long illness. Born in Detroit, she worked as
a commercial artist after completing Santa Rosa Junior College in
1977. She was employed by firms in both California and Michigan,
including working with staff at the Bethel Childrens Center in
Santa Rosa. Patricia will be remembered as a nature lover and
optimist. In her own life, she had many challenges that she
overcame due to a car accident and surgeries. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Fred and Grace Phinney, and sister Jeanne
Phinney. She is survived by her sisters Gail Wade and husband
William of Michigan, Jo McKeown and husband Darrold of Michigan and
Judy Lydic and husband Gordon of South Carolina, her uncles Joe
Coons and wife, Roberta and Dave Coons of Michigan, her friend
Margie Stewart of Sebastopol and numerous cousins, nieces and
nephews. Donations may be made in her memory to the Bethel
Childrens Center or the Memorial Hospice in Santa Rosa. Services
were held in Sebastopol.
