HOOPS CHAMPS — The St. Peter’s fifth grade Division 3 girls (above) and sixth grade Division 3 boys (below) each captured CYO basketball titles this month.

A pair of local youth basketball teams completed Catholic Youth Organization championships seasons this month, as the St. Peter’s fifth grade Division 3 girls and the St. Peter’s sixth grade Division 3 boys each brought home a coveted first place trophy.
In title games played at Cloverdale High School on March 3, the fifth grade girls defeated COA, 18-16, in a championship thriller.
The team included Alyse Blasi, Aubree Santana, Caprice Tyson, Carlee Hemenway, Grace Sedillo, Kylee Vlasak, Kylie Blackwell and Miranda Montes.
The sixth grade boys beat St. Eugene, 34-27 in the champion final.
The roster featured Alexis Mora, Anthony Bernardi, Jordan Huls, Kobe Misa, Luca Messenger, Mason Caturegli, Spencer Hernandez and Tatum Kurpinsky.  
The St. Peter’s CYO program is open to third through eighth graders who reside within the St. Peter Parish boundaries. The area includes all of Cloverdale and segments of Geyserville.
