Two games were so exciting that both deserve to be recognized as Our Lady of Guadalupe Church’s Catholic Youth Organization game of the week. Both OLG teams showed great character and perseverance in mounting come from behind victories over St. Vincent of Petaluma.

First it was a 27-25 win for coach Scott Simkins’ 6th grade boys team. It was back and forth in the final three minutes. The game winner was a Liam West buzzer beater after getting the ball at half court and driving to the basket.

McFadden led all OLG scorers with six points. Joe Ceja followed with five. Josh Geist and Easton Wriedt both contributed four points. The team is now 1-3 in North Bay CYO play.

The following game was an overtime 52-51 victory for coach Jason Kraft’s 7th grade boys team. The Windsor squad trailed by 13 at the half and nine entering the fourth quarter. Tight OLG defense forced a 46-46 tie at the end of regulation time. Joseph Campbell scored four points in OT to lead the team.

Marcos Palacios scored 15 points to lead all scorers. Colin Kraft followed with twelve. Campbell and Braiden Black both added seven points. Kraft’s club evened their NBCYO record at 2-2
