Coach Steve Kramer’s 3rd grade boys team finished their season with a 23-19 win over St. John’s Parish in Catholic Youth Organization play. The Our Lady of Guadalupe team used some outstanding shooting to go up 21-9 after three quarters but had to hold off St. John’s fourth quarter rally for the victory.
Ernesto Nevarez started the scoring with a steal and breakaway lay-up but it was Cade Taylor’s hot hand in the second quarter that put the locals up 14-9 at the half. The win left the Windsor boys with a 5-4-1 record in league play.
Nevarez and Taylor were top OLG scorers with six points each. Benjamin Sutherland and Eli Rosen both contributed four points. Jackson Lepera had two and Remy Lagourgue one to close out the scoring.
OLG CYO Basketball has 16 teams advancing to this weekend’s North Bay CYO playoffs. Five games will be played at Windsor Middle School on Saturday. The public is encouraged to attend and support the local teams. For more information about OLG CYO Basketball please write to
