A strong fourth quarter led Our Lady of Guadalupeā€™s 6th grade girls team to a 22-16 win over St. John in Catholic Youth Organization play. The game was tied at the half but the Windsor girls trailed 16-14 heading into the fourth quarter.
Liz Reyes started the rally with a steal and lay up to even the score. After that it was the Abbie Mullins show. The hot shooting guard connected on three long range jump shots to lead her team to the victory. Outstanding defense held the visiting Healdsburg team to no points in the fourth period.
Mullins topped all scorers with 11 points. Emma Smith followed with her six. Liz Reyes added four and Riya Pravin closed out the scoring with one point. Coach Mike Mullinsā€™ squad now has a 3-2 record at the midway point of the North Bay CYO regular season.
OLG CYO basketball is sponsored by the Diocese of Santa Rosa. It is open for boys and girls, of all skill levels, in grades 3-8. Home games are played at Windsor Middle School on Saturdays and Sundays. The public is encouraged to attend and support the local teams.Ā
