It was a clean sweep as Our Lady of Guadalupe Church went 3-0 in North Bay Catholic Youth Organization championship games on March 3.
Coach Rod Harris’ fourth grade boys team started the winning ways with a 30-22 victory over St. Eugene of Santa Rosa. The local boys finished on a 6-0 run to seal the win. The team finished with an 11-1 NBCYO record.
In sixth grade action, coach Dave Avila’s girls finished off their exciting upset filled playoff run with a championship. In the league final they defeated top seeded St. Francis of Sonoma by a 31-28 score.
OLG’s seventh grade girls led wire to wire over St. Rose to earn their pennant. Final score was 41-23. Coach Mike Mullins’ team finished with a 14-1 season record.
OLG CYO Basketball is open to boys and girls, of all skill levels, in third through eighth grades. 265 kids played this season. Registration will open in July. For more information send an email to [email protected] or check the OLG parish bulletin.
