It was an overtime comeback victory for Windsor boys in this week’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Youth Organization’s game of the week. Coach Jason Kraft’s Div. 1 team upped their record to 2-1, with a 47-44 win over St. Apollinaris of Napa, in North Bay CYO play.
The Windsor boys trailed 35-27 heading into the fourth quarter. Things looked bleak for the local crew when they trailed by seven with just 32 seconds on the game clock. A couple of OLG baskets pulled them to within three to set the stage for Colin Kraft’s three-point basket for the tie as the buzzer sounded. Stingy OLG defense shut out the Napa team in overtime and free throws from Jacob Scott and Joseph Campbell proved to be the difference.
Campbell and Braiden Black led OLG with 10 points each. Kraft finished with eight. Patrick Logue and Scott rounded out the top scorers with six and four points respectively.
All OLG CYO teams will have a two-week break from games for the Christmas celebration. NBCYO games will resume on January 6th. OLG has home games 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sundays at Windsor Middle School. The public is invited to attend all games.
