David Martin Curshellas – Moved to Glasgow,
KY

David Curshellas, 66, of Glasgow, KY died Sunday, March 15, 2009
at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in San
Francisco, the son of the late Plazi and Blanche Romero Curshellas
of Sebastopol. Curshellas was retired from the Oakdale, California
School System and was a veteran having served in the U.S. Coast
Guard. He attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church and was a longtime
volunteer at the Plaza Theater and T.J. Samson Community Hospital
in Glasgow.
He is survived by his daughter Janae (Luis) Curshellas and
granddaughter Eden of Modesto; two sisters Yolanda Repetowski of
Glasgow and Linda (Harold) Turben of Edmonton; nephews Brandon
Repetowski and Michael (Jennifer) Turben; niece Michele (Ricky)
Wooten all of Glasgow and two great nephews and one great
niece.

Karl John Paul Schneider Sr. – Former Sebastopol
resident

Karl Schneider Sr., 74, died of heart failure on Friday at a
Santa Rosa hospital.
Schneider was a former Sebastopol and Santa Rosa resident who
for the past 20 years lived in Kelseyville.
A San Francisco native and an Air Force veteran, Schneider was a
self-taught and self-employed carpenter who remodeled homes and
built furniture.
Schneider was one of 11 siblings. He moved to Sebastopol in the
1950s, then to Santa Rosa in 1974 before moving to Kelseyville in
1989.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kit Schneider of
Kelseyville, his sons, Chuck Schneider of Stonyford and Danny
Schneider of Santa Rosa; daughters, Carol Ann Lancaster of Pollock
Pines, Sandy Petley of Camino, and Candace Doyle and Sugar Mejia,
both of Ashland, Ore.; brothers, Bill Schneider of Nevada, Dick
Schneider of Concord, Mickey Schneider of Pacifica, Tommy Schneider
of Petaluma and Eddie Schneider of Belmont; sisters, Marie and
Susie Schneider, both of Oregon; 18 grandchildren; 14
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William R. “Bill” Brugger – Guerneville’s Buck’s Ranch
bartender

Bill Brugger died at home after a brief fight with cancer.
Brugger was born in San Francisco and graduated from Poly High.
He served in the Army during the Korean War, and was a member of
the Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local 104 for 55 years. After
retiring, he and his wife June moved permanently to Guerneville
where he worked part-time as a bartender at Buck’s Ranch, which led
him to meet and make friends with many. He was past president of
the Russian River Rodeo Association and he and his wife were
members for many years. He was also a member of the American
Legion.
Brugger is survived by his wife of 49 years, June, children Bill
Brugger, Jr., Susan Loper, Denis Merz, Pam Talavera, Bob and
Montene Merz; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Per the deceased’s request, there will be no service.
Robert T. Mastrup – Born in Petaluma, lived in
Guerneville

Robert Mastrup died at his home in the redwoods of Guerneville
on March 11, 2009, after a battle with cancer. He was born on March
24, 1934 to Pete and Mercy Mastrup of Petaluma, CA. Robert
graduated from Petaluma High School, served in the U.S. Army and
later worked in San Francisco in the upholstery business. Mastrup
was a child prodigy in art, starting at the age of six and
continuing throughout his life. He received awards from Roseland
Russell. He enjoyed many salmon fishing trips at Bodega Bay with
his friend, Juan Bentley.
Mastrup was preceded in death by his daughter Shannon Marie
Mastrup and brother Duayne Mastrup. He is survived by his sisters
Sally Petaluna, Gracie Johnson, and brothers Harold Allen, Jr., and
Fred Allen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made in Mastrup’s name to the American
Cancer Society.
