Timothy Edward Trask
Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and son, died on Jan. 6, 2016, at home in the loving arms of his wife and son with loving family by his side. He was a young 49. Timothy was born in San Francisco to Raymond and Barbara Trask. He is survived by his wife, Kristina, son Jake and his best friends Buddie and Fenster, his brothers Dave, John (Michelle) and sister Diana Rochelle, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Trask and mother Barbara Wineland (Millagan, Trask) and brother Ron. His celebration of life party will be held on FRiday, Jan. 29, 3 p.m. at the Windsor Grange Hall. Please, no flowers. Walter John Schneider
Walter John Schneider, Jr., 48, died in Cloverdale on Dec. 28, 2015. Friends and colleagues knew him as “Big Jon Snyder,” where he called Santa Rosa home and had an active career in radio. Jon was born June 2, 1967 at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. He grew up in San Lorenzo, attending San Lorenzo Elementary and Bohanan Junior High. Jon graduated valedictorian from Del Oro High School in Lafayette. He took an interest in broadcast radio and received training and began his career as a news anchor, reporter and producer in the early 90s at News Talk 1350 KSRO in Santa Rosa. He then went on to join The Blazy Morning Show on 101.7 The Fox as producer and cohost. Jon was a multi-tasker and became Promotions Director for the station group Maverick Media, and later Amaturo Sonoma Media. Jon was well known in the community and was successful at integrating clients, local events, festivals, concerts and local businesses seamlessly in partnership with radio. Jon loved rock as a fan and was a musician himself, and attended numerous concerts over the years. Jon also enjoyed supporting the arts, local music, acting and fishing when he could. Jon struggled with a debilitating and painful condition known as Ankylosing Spondylitis, but he continued to work hard and be there for the love of his life, Angelina. He married Angelina Marie Miller, Sept. 20, 2008 on the beach at Bodega Bay. Jon is survived by his wife Angelina; stepdaughter Rebekah Ricetti; stepson Cameron Scully; mother Molly; father Walter Sr.; stepmom Sharon; siblings Christina Ortiz (George), their children Marcella, Julianna, Jennifer, Brandon, Mariah and Chris Love, their children Nathan, Trevor and Daniel; Capri and Joe Shriner, their children Cheyenne and June; Lynae Miller and her son Connor Kalos; Jim and JoAnn Miller; James Miller (Leah), their children Tyson and Rocklynn. Private family services were held at Parkside Church in Cloverdale on Jan. 8. A celebration of life is in the works for early spring, with details coming on a Big Jon Snyder Memorial Facebook page.
Robert J. Emmons
Robert was born Feb. 25, 1936 and died Nov. 21, 2015. He was the loving husband of Cookie Emmons, who submitted this remembrance: “Don’t mourn for me, I’m still here, though you don’t see. I’m right by your side each night and day, and within your heart I long to stay. My body is gone but I’m always near, I’m everything you feel and see or hear. My spirit is free but I’ll never depart, as long as you keep me alive in your heart.”
Lois Ann Palma-Brown
Lois Ann Palma-Brown died in Santa Rosa at age 74. She was born in Camden, New Jersey and spent her last 16 years in Sonoma County. She had many varied interests and involved herself with organizations such as the Rotary Club, Cloverdale Historical Society, Wallace House, Cloverdale Wine and Visitors Center, the Citrus Fair and the Fiddle Festival. Lois was an educated woman and a registered nurse. She was a caregiver to many residents of Clover Springs and always put others first. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her big heart and selfless service. Lois is survived by her son, Marshall (LaDonna) E. Brown Jr., her sister, Joyce Holleman, nephew, Keith (Julie) Holleman, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, at Eggen and Lance Chapel, 1540 Mendocino Ave in Santa Rosa.
