On May 11 the Windsor Junior Golf Team launched the 2019 season with a North Bay Junior Golf League Qualifying event.
Thirteen juniors played in the event with Alex Barragan, 15, turning in the top score of 43 from the Blue Tees (3,128 yards). Eight-year -old Dillon Stafani posted a 45 from the Gold Tees (2,250 yards). The average score for the day was 52, a good way to start off the qualifying.
The next qualifier will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 5 p.m. followed by Sunday, May 19 starting at 5 p.m. Juniors can post three scores and the average of their top two will create the rankings.
Roughly 29 juniors will be trying to qualify. Windsor can send eight players to each tournament for the North Bay Junior Golf League.
The North Bay Junior Golf League will kick off on June 18 at Healdsburg Golf Club.
Editor’s note: Since this was the first event, the results for the individual qualifier and the current ranking are the same.
