Nolan Lee Schweikl passed away on September 29, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. Nolan was born June 11, 1945 in Medford, Oregon to Nolan and Wilma Schweikl.
When he was 3 months old the family moved to Crescent City, California where Nolan later attended grammar school and graduated from Del Norte High School in 1963. After college Nolan enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany.
He married Blair Buzzini on April 10, 1970 in Crescent City and they are the parents of four children.
Nolan worked in the sawmill business most of his life, the last 30 years working for Redwood Empire Sawmills in Cloverdale, California. Although he was “the boss” he never felt himself superior to anyone and appreciated the men and women that worked for and with him.
Nolan is survived by Blair, his wife of 46 years; children Eric Schweikl, Regina Farris (Bob), Scott Schweikl (Mishel), and Amy Dale (Tom); grandchildren Cheyenne, Monet, Astrea, and Gradin Schweikl; TJ and Cole Dale; Clayton, Sage and Erica Farris.
He is also survived by his sister Carol Potter and several nieces and nephews whom he loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents Nolan and Wilma, his brother Ron and his sister Judy.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 15 at the Cloverdale Veterans Building from 1 to 4 p.m.
The family has requested donations to the Cloverdale Lions Club in lieu of flowers.
