New Classes at the Center
Intermediate Bridge Class: Popular Conventions
Dates: Fridays, Feb. 8 through March 15
Time: 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Fee: $90 per person.
This is a class for bridge players who would like to learn the latest in conventions. It will be a 6-week class, covering the most popular conventions being used by many tournament and club players. Utilization of these conventions will help you arrive at the proper contract, played from the proper hand, much more often. Examples of these conventions are Jacoby Transfers, Key Card Blackwood (also known as 1430), the weak 2 system and many others. This class is open to the public of all ages. To register, go to the Senior Center and speak to the front desk staff.
February Events at the Center
Events advertised are open to the public and there is no age requirement. Events are held at the Senior Center, located at 133 Matheson St., unless otherwise specified.
Bistro Gallery Watercolor and Pastels Exhibit
This show compiles beautiful works of art from five local artists and Center members and is not to be missed.
Artists include: Shonnie Brown, Sidnee Cox, Karen Miller, Patricia Westman, Sue Yavorsky.
Display dates Jan. 11through March 1.
TED Talk Discussion Forum:
Date: Friday, Feb. 15
Time: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
This month’s topic will be; “Global population growth, box-by-box” with speaker Hans Rosling, Global health expert. The world’s population will reach 9 billion in the next 40 years, and only by raising the living standards of the poorest can we check population growth. Discussion after the video, no cost to attend, open to all ages.
SHARE Healdsburg Housing Presentations
