Naomi Carolyn Lowell, 95, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2005
at the Cloverdale Health Care Center, where she had resided for the
past two years. She was born in Smithfield, Utah on December 1,
1909 to the late William Hans Draper and Mary Christy Nielsen
Draper. She is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Ruth
Draper, Hazen Draper Ralphs, LeRoy Draper and LaVeda Draper Titcomb
Bonds; her husband of 50 years, Robert H. “Bob” Lowell; grandson
Brian Ramos; son Harold Lowell and wife Elsal and
great-granddaughter Hillary Beverlin. She is survived by daughter
Carolyn Ramos and husband Adam; granddaughter Diane Miller and
husband Robert; granddaughter Barbara Beverlin and husband Garry;
grandson Kenneth Lowell; grandson Russell Lowell and wife Diane;
also by four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins. Naomi came to California from Utah when she was 13 years
old, settling in San Jose. She married in 1925, and later moved to
San Diego and raised two children. During World War II, she worked
at Consolidated Aircraft Factory riveting and installing
electronics in the wings of B-25 bombers. She had this job because
of her petite size, which allowed her to reach into areas that were
impossible for others. In 1945 they moved to Healdsburg where she
worked for J.C. Penney, Gallen Kamp Shoes and then for Cliff Fraser
Shoes. She retired in 1977. She then moved to Santa Rosa and lived
there until moving to Cloverdale to be closer to her daughter 10
years ago. Her memory may have faded over the last couple of years
but her love never waned and her tremendous sense of humor was with
her until the end. At her request, no services are being held and
she was transported to Stanford School of Medicine. If desired,
donations may be made in her memory to the Cloverdale Fire
Department, 116 Broad Street, Cloverdale, CA 95425.
