Murray was born in Blackhawk, Iowa, raised and educated in
Montana, and moved to Sonoma County in 1945. He served his country
in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Murray was a 60-year member
of the Local No. 3 International Union of Operating Engineers. He
was an avid trout fisherman and outdoorsman. Murray was also a
diehard Oakland A’s fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife Ann Allen in 2002. Murray is
survived by his children, Leroy Allen, Dolley Ann Allen, Donna
Allen, Linda Allen, Cindy Gifford and her husband David, 17
grandchildren. seven great-grandchildren and his siblings, Gayle,
Woody, Michael and Roberta. Donations may be made in Murray’s name
to the American Diabetes Association.
