Editor: Most people can agree that corporate greed and its undue
influence on politics is a problem that transcends party lines.
Congress is broken, because the members have to raise something
like $20,000 every day to run for re-election. I’d like to thank
Katie Martin for taking the bull by the horns and starting a MoveOn
Council here in Healdsburg. Because of her efforts during our 1st
meeting we agreed to focus on curbing corporate greed and campaign
finance reform. If, like me, you’re ready to stop simply ranting
and start doing something to fix it, then please join us for our
2nd meeting this Thurs., April 22, 6pm at The Bean Affair (across
from Garrett’s Hardware). We welcome everyone from Cloverdale
through Santa Rosa. MoveOn will also host a community forum on
Tues., May 4th at the Finley Center in Sebastopol from 6:45 to 8:45
that everyone is invited to attend. The issues we are focusing on
are at the root of many of our biggest problems. It’s time for
everyone to pitch in to reclaim our political system. I hope to see
a lot of local involvement.
