Minette E. Woodworth passed away peacefully in Healdsburg on
January 8, 2005. Minette was born in Sacramento on March 28, 1913,
the daughter of Captain Rush and Katherine Fisher. She was raised
in Rio Vista on the Sacramento River. She graduated from San Jose
State Teachers College (California State University at San Jose) in
1934. She taught her first year in a one-room schoolhouse, grades
first through 12, in Pope Valley. She spent her 30-year teaching
career in elementary school in Napa, San Rafael and San Anselmo.
She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Stannard, and her
adored son Craig. She is survived by her loving daughter and
son-in-law Carole and Stan Chapman of Healdsburg; sister Veryl of
Sacramento; grandchildren Eric Woodworth, Scott (wife, Amelia)
Chapman, and Robynn Chapman; great-granddaughter Ivy Woodworth;
also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, good friends, and her
grand-dog Reilly. She raised her family in Marin County, and moved
to Healdsburg in 1997. She was an avid and accomplished bridge
player, talented seamstress, enthusiastic traveler, and a life-long
lover of music. Friends are invited to attend inurnment services on
Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Mound Cemetery in
Healdsburg. Memorial contributions may be made in Minette’s name to
Heartland Hospice, 2455 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA
95404-5650, or to the Healdsburg Animal Shelter, 570 Westside Road,
Healdsburg, CA 95448.
