The Healdsburg Community Services Department will host a community focus group discussion regarding the future schedule and operation of the Healdsburg Swim Center on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. at the Healdsburg Community Center at 1557 Healdsburg Avenue.
The Healdsburg Swim Center, located at 360 Monte Vista Avenue, is owned by the Healdsburg Unified School District and operated jointly by the district and the city. The facility has an outdoor swim area that includes an 8-lane competition pool, a shallow training pool, spectator viewing area and indoor showers and locker rooms. The Community Services Department currently offers swim lessons, swim team instruction, lap swim and open recreational swim periods.
The focus of this meeting is to discuss current operations and provide community members an opportunity to share their input and vision for future programming and use of the center. The meeting is intended to be a casual and interactive discussion to help city staff best suit the community’s aquatics needs and interests.
If you are unable to attend, feel free to share your input by contacting Recreation Supervisor Dave Jahns at 431-3152 or dj****@ci.us. This is intended as the first of several community discussions on this topic. All future meetings will be posted on the city’s website (www.cityofhealdsburg.org) and the Community Services Department’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Healdsburgcommunityservices.
