Marvin Wilson Barton – U.S. Air Force veteran

Marvin Wilson Barton died peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008
in Sebastopol. He was the dearly loved husband of 55 years and five
days to June Barton of Windsor.
He was the father of Rhonda (David) Saaks of Chicago, Ill., John
Wilson (Yoko) Barton of Santa Rosa and Lauri (Russell) Hornstein of
Folsom and the brother of Randa Hance of Dallas, Texas and James
Barton of Kingsland, Texas. Barton was the grandfather of Cameron
Peterson (Berkelee School Of Music), Katelyn Peterson, Carleigh
Peterson, Rianna Barton, Shone Barton and Mayaka Barton.
June and Marv met in London on June 1, 1952. June soon followed
Marv to Waco, TX and there they were married on Jan. 17, 1953.
Marvin finished his career in the U.S. Air Force in 1968, he
retired to Sonoma County where June and Marv raised their three
children and he worked for the State Park and Recreation for 15
years.
His greatest joys in life were his family, his grandchildren and
country music. A private burial service will be held at Sacramento
Valley VA National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif. A memorial service
will be held at a later date.
