The seventh annual Martin Luther King Jr. Poetry night will be
held Friday, Jan. 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Elsie Allen High
School auditorium, 599 Bellevue Ave. in Santa Rosa. Children
participating in the Sonoma SERVES programs will read poetry, sing
songs and perform skits based on Dr. King’s powerful message of
non-violent social change. The program will commence with guest
speaker Rev. James E. Coffee of the Community Baptist Church.
KRCB’s travel & leisure
auction
KRCB Television 22 will televise its 9th annual Travel and
Leisure Auction starting Friday, Jan. 20 to Sunday, Jan. 22 and
Friday, Jan. 27 to Sunday, Jan. 29. Bidding begins each evening at
7 p.m., Proceeds from the auction will benefit the PBS station that
serves Sonoma, Marin, Napa and San Francisco counties. Money from
the auction contributes a significant portion of KRCB’s operating
