Marta Petzel

Sebastopol artist Marta Petzel, 51, died on Dec. 23 at home
after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Petzel worked in metal,
with many sculptures on display around West County. She is survived
by her husband, Joe Petzel, her sons, Drew and Michael, her sister
Nikki Bradford Smith of Colfax, brother Ken Hickey of Berkeley and
her mother Lela Matulich of Santa Cruz. Memorial services will be
held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Jan. 12 at the Sebastopol Community
Church. Donations in her memory can be made to the Martz Petzel
Trust Fund at the Exchange Bank for her sons’ educations.
