Marian E. Dollard died Jan. 14, 2008 at a Santa Rosa hospital.
She was 78. She is survived by her husband, Patrick Dollard; son
Eric Dollard; daughter and son in-law Suzann and David Penry of
Dobbins, CA.; grandson and wife Daniel and Ellishea Penry of
Sebastopol; granddaughter Tina Penry of Santa Rosa;
great-grandchildren Dwight Penry and Jazmine Williams.
Dollard pursued many interests including raising competition of
roller canaries, gardening, competitive trail riding and working
several years with the Sonoma County Mounted Search and Rescue.
Over the last several years she gave up horses to work with
llamas. Dollard traveled extensively with her husband to such
places as Bora Bora, Jamaica and more. Many years she loved going
on group trips with the bus tours Day Tripping.
Dollard met her future husband at an ice skating ring in San
Francisco, in 1950, where they collided and Patrick ended up
cracking her ribs. They dated for a year and married in 1951. They
resided in San Francisco, Novato and finally settled in Santa
Rosa.
Memorial Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family
requests individuals make a contribution to a favorite charity.
