A 29-year-old Healdsburg man was fatally shot Tuesday night in
Alexander Valley by suspected Cloverdale resident Jarrod
Miller.
The Sonoma County Sheriif’s Department reported that at 11:20
p.m., Neuer’s girlfriend called police, saying that her boyfriend
had been shot and that the suspect, Miller, 29, left the house,
armed with a handgun, in a white Chevrolet Suburban.
When sheriff’s deputies got to the house, they had to force
entry through the locked front door and found Neuer dead on the
floor, appearing to have been shot several times.
Deputies from the Windsor Police Department also responded to
the area and spotted the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on
Old Redwood Highway north of Limerick Lane. Deputies initiated a
traffic stop and took Miller into custody without incident.  Miller
was unarmed but advised deputies that he threw the gun out the
window just prior to the deputies stopping his vehicle.  A
California Highway Patrol Officer who was assisting in the traffic
stop located a small caliber handgun in a vineyard approximately
500 yards north of where Miller was stopped.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Investigation
Unit is conducting further investigation.
