Cloverdale resident since 1980
Q. What brought you here?
A. I was born and raised here. My family home is here and my three sisters live here, so I think of Cloverdale as home. My grandfather had properties here and my parents bought a property from him. They originally lived in the Bay Area but wanted a quieter place, a nice small town to raise their children.
Q. What keeps you here?
A. All our family and friends are here. I raised my son here because it’s such a lovely town, a small community that supports everyone. Now I am dividing my time between Cloverdale and Rohnert Park where we moved so that my son could attend CREDO, the Waldorf Charter High School. Before we moved I was involved and acted in the theater when Jim de Priest was artistic director. It was such a delight, because before that there was no theater here, nothing, and it was frustrating having to find an artistic outlet away from home. I studied theater in high school under Ann Boone, then studied theater at the JC, then San Francisco State and eventually Sonoma State. I’m loving that I’m welcomed back to do theater in my home town and bring it to other people. It’s such a joy to bring someone on a brand new journey or a rediscovery of a story that’s loved by everyone. It just warms me.
