A group of Healdsburg residents gathered in the Plaza Nov. 8 in a peaceful demonstration in support of Robert Mueller and the Russia collusion investigation.
Despite smoke from several California wildfires, demonstrators wearing masks lined up on the street for around an hour, holding up signs with slogans such as “Protect and defend the Mueller probe,” and chanting phrases like, “Protect the press.”
The gathering comes after U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions was fired by President Donald Trump last Wednesday, Nov. 7. Sessions is being replaced by acting Attorney General Matthew G. Whitaker, who has raised questions about the future of the inquiry, which was led by Mueller in a special counsel.
