New laws in 2020 cover a variety of topics

A plethora of new laws have gone into affect in the new year, some with significant potential affects. Here are the highlights.

Thirteen library branches will be open Nov. 4

As of Monday, Nov. 4, 13 Sonoma County Library branches will be open, according to Library Director Ann Hammond.

School board reviews district and LCAP budgets

At the June 12 Healdsburg Unified District School Board meeting district staff went over the preliminary budget for the LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) and budget impacts and outlooks for the district’s overall 2019-20 budget. Public hearings were held for the two items; however, there were no comments from the public.

Council to tackle growth control again next week

The Healdsburg City Council will take up the topic of growth control again next week, facing a deadline to make a decision, draft legal language and get something on the November ballot.
