Decking the Halls, Dec. 5

FESTIVE FUN — Ms. Miranda’s first grade class (pictured above) joined a handful of classes from Jefferson Elementary to decorate Christmas trees in downtown businesses on Thursday, Dec. 5. Students were welcomed at each participating business with a tree waiting for decorations, and some treats. Ms. Miranda’s class decorated a tree for the Cloverdale Reveille and Mail Center, Etc. office.

Turkey Giveaway, Nov. 22

GOBBLE — Community members gathered in front of the Cloverdale Food Pantry on Friday, Nov. 22 to pick up Thanksgiving staples — turkeys, stuffing and a pie. On Nov. 21, Shalia Vanderweken and Brenda Vronoski held their annual Turkey Round-up, collecting donations of money and turkeys from those able to donate. The community donations provided around 100 turkeys to be given out at the food pantry on Friday. Vanderweken and Vronoski said that they are appreciative of both the community and local service clubs for supporting the round-up year after year.

Veterans Day Lunch, Nov. 8

The Cloverdale Senior Multipurpose Center hosted a Veterans Day lunch on Friday, Nov. 8, to honor those who have served.

Trunk or Treat, Oct. 31

The Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds was home to this year's annual Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 31, giving kids the opportunity to trick-or-treat out of the trunks of community members' decorated cars. 

Blanketed with smoke

Cloverdale was blanketed with smoke Thursday morning. As of 12 p.m., the Kincade Fire was 0% contained.

Festive Fall Fun, Oct. 9

PUMPKIN PICKING — Kiwanis’ Oktoberfest in conjunction with Courtney’s Pumpkin Patch was held in Cloverdale’s downtown plaza on Oct. 5.

Jefferson carnival, Sept. 20

Jefferson Elementary held its school carnival on Sept. 20. The carnival included an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, bean bag toss and more.

Pure food, pure fun at the Heirloom Expo

The eighth annual Heirloom Expo took place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on Sept. 10, 11 and 12, and it featured exhibitions of everything “pure food.” The famous giant squash tower was in residence alongside epic displays of every varietal of heirloom fruits and vegetables imaginable.

New Digs, Sept. 12

RECREATIONAL RIBBON CUTTING — A ribbon cutting and open house was held on Thursday, Sept. 12 for 4Cs’ Cloverdale Preschool’s new playground.
