Tania Romanov Amochaev will speak and read from her new book this Wednesday, May 23 at 7 p.m. at the Healdsburg Regional Library.
“Mother Tongue: a Saga of Three Generations of Balkan Women,” chronicles Romanov’s journey to rediscover her roots and unravel the secrets of her past.
Romanov, her mother and her grandmother — three generations of Croatian women — all fled their homelands at various times as a result of the Balkan wars. Romanov, a successful American businesswoman, spent part of her childhood in a refugee camp in Italy before coming to America.
She is the co-founder of the Healdsburg Literary Guild and the Public School Success Team, both of which have made a significant impact in Healdsburg.
