9-10 year old squad still battling
It was an exciting weekend on the All Star baseball diamond for a pair of local Little League teams, as the Cloverdale 9-10 year olds and Juniors took the field in their respective District 35 tournaments.
Fresh off a strong showing in last month’s Tournament of Champions, the CLL Junior squad didn’t fare as well in the All Star tourney, going two and out to finish their season.
Meanwhile, the CLL 9-10 year old All Stars continue to impress in their double-elimination tournament, winning two of three games to stay alive.
Following are the results of each All Star tourney.
Juniors
The CLL Junior team opened District 35 action on July 2 against a tough Santa Rosa squad, falling 13-5. Cloverdale dropped an 18-4 decision to El Molino the following day to end an outstanding season.
