It was a good week for West County high school baseball teams, as the Lions and Tigers combined for three wins in four outings in the opening stretch of the Sonoma County League schedule.
Analy easily dispatched Elsie Allen (24-1) and Healdsburg (10-0), while El Molino fell to Sonoma Valley (10-0), but bounced back to defeat Elsie Allen (7-2).
At press time the Tigers (9-4, 2-0) were preparing for a critical stretch with home and away dates against Petaluma (April 5) and at Sonoma Valley on Friday, April 8 (Arnold Field, 7 p.m.). Analy will host Novato in a non-league clash on Tuesday, April 12 (4 p.m.).
The Lions (4-6, 1-1) will resume league action with games at Healdsburg (April 5) and home versus Piner on Tuesday, April 12 (4 p.m.).

Analy had its hitting shoes fastened in the SCL opener at Elsie Allen on March 29, pounding out a season-high 24 hits to plate 24 runs in a five-inning, 24-1 victory. Evan Peelen (5 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 Ks) earned the win, while top hitters were Devon Ogston (3 for 4, 2B, run, 2 RBIs), Spencer Vogel (2 for 3, 2 2Bs, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), Nolan Alvarez (2 for 3, 2B, 2 runs, 2 RBIs), David Codoni (2 for 2, 2 runs), Jacob Beeler (2 for 2, 2 RBIs), Keaton Bates (2 for 4, run, 2 RBIs), Johnny Gomes (2 for 3, 2 runs, 2 RBIs) and Andy Noonan (2 for 3, run, RBI).
The Tigers didn’t skip a beat in Friday’s home clash with Healdsburg, staking starter Ryan Calderon to an early lead in an eventual two-hit 10-0, five-inning win. Pacing the offense were Taylor Cullen (3 for 4, RBI), Ogston (2 for 4, 2B) and Codoni (2 for 3, 2B, 3 RBIs).

El Molino weathered a tough start to the SCL season in their March 29 visit to Sonoma Valley, as Dragons pitcher Carson Snyder crafted an 11 strikeout, no-hit effort in a five-inning, 10-0 win. Seeing mound duty for the Lions were Mitch Fricker (4 IP, 1 hit, 3 ERs, 7 BBs, 5 Ks), Austin Cassidy (1 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 3 BBs) and Jake Peter (.2 IP, 1 hit 2 ERs, 1 K).
El Mo claimed its first league victory three days later at Elsie Allen, pushing across four runs in the first two innings to take charge en route to a 7-2 win.
Starter Kyle Kaasch (6 IP, 3 hits, 2 ERs, 4 BBs, 8 Ks) earned the victory, while Jake Peter (1 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 2 Ks) pitched well in relief. Top hitters were Jordan Hamner (3 for 4, run), Wesley Hamner (3 for 4, 2 RBIs), TJ Schooley (2 for 4, run), Austin Sani (1 for 1, run, RBI), Gus Guerne (1 for 3, 2B, run, RBI) and Ian Siegert (1 for 1, RBI).  Â
