Ragle Parking
EDITOR: I wonder if all those soccer and baseball moms and dads who keep parking on the west side of Ragle Road in front of Ragle Park realize that they are parking between numerous “No Parking Any Time” signs. Or if they realize their cars stick out onto the roadway, impeding the flow of traffic. Or that they’re setting a bad example for their kids, letting them think it’s OK to flout the law for selfish reasons. Or that they could purchase a Sonoma County Regional Parks parking pass, which would help support the park that their kids use and, oh yeah, provide a safe parking place for them as well. Alas, probably not.

’Til it’s gone
EDITOR: Sebastopol is at the edge. Looking out to continue a tradition of being a special, unique and friendly town, the hub of the “West county.” Having a downtown that can provide for citizens to gather and enjoy open space yet being in contact with all the town provides. To the planners, city administrators and people responsible for the future … “do not pave paradise and put up a parking lot!” The last small section of open space in the center of town better serves the people of the town as open space (of many possible configurations) than as a hotel or commercially used buildings (as there are many already). Do not tell me that the small section of green with the gazebo, Christmas tree and sculptures is adequate for this marvelous town. It is not! Look past tax revenue and developers’ words of advantages. Use the towns that have ample open space in the center as a example. Do not encourage more congestion. Have a vision of the future with comfort, unique amenities, trees, grass, picnic tables, benches, flower beds and the special ways to make people’s lives better who use the town.
