Thank you Cloverdale Computer
Editor:
I want to send out a note of thanks to Greg Carter and his side-kick, Ben, (Cloverdale Computers) for getting my computer back on track after some very complicated issues were corrupting and rendering it useless. It is now clean, protected and faster than the speed of light! I am so happy!
Yes, Greg and Ben are kind enough to make house-calls and if I’m quick enough on the draw before they’re able to beat a hasty exit, they will not only answer my stupid questions but actually show me how something is done that has long been a frustration to me, like getting an e-mail icon short cut onto my desktop or removing or accessing a picture, all these little techy-tricks that I should know but don’t. They just passed them on to me lickety-split without billing me extra for it.
Nice guys and great service!

Moving ahead for Food For Thought

In a recent article an explanation regarding the program they have for supporting HIV positive people. A number of people are volunteering to help in our first food drive on the 28th of September at Ray’s Food Place. Help can take many forms from financial donation to helping pick up food, working at the storefront on the 28th, to moving food to the Forestville area. Sometimes it can be as simple as helping with making posters.

Stock a Student Classroom
Editor:
On behalf of the students and staff at Jefferson Elementary and Washington School, we would like to thank the United Church of California for organizing the Stock A Student Classroom and the many individuals, businesses, community clubs and churches who contributed to the “Stock A Student Classroom” campaign. Also, thanks to Jackie Cofield and Lavonne Blucher-Nameny for spearheading the drive which contributed close to $2,000 in supplies for our teachers and students. The generous support of our community supplements what we currently can provide and greatly assists us in providing a quality educational experience for our students. It is our hope that our students are able to give back to our community in a similar fashion. Again, thank you.

Appropriate art
Editor:
You recently printed a very nice article about art in Cloverdale. Featured was the green naked woman squatting on our sidewalk. I spoke with a tourist taking pictures of our green woman. She was amazed a town would place something that offensive in public. She called it disgusting.
If Cloverdale were to place a statue of a Marine with a rifle on that corner or a statue of George Washington praying someone would be offended and cry to our city leaders and they would remove it.
I believe many, if not most people in Cloverdale do not like it and are offended by the green naked woman defecating in public. One child I know asked his mother, “Mommy why is that lady pooping on the sidewalk.” I am sure there are some who like it and I am sure they really enjoy seeing it but many are offended by it.
Today it is acceptable to offend some people but not others. We have learned from this, that Cloverdale city leaders are not concerned with the opinion of those who disagree with them. I am sure the statue is politically correct somehow.

Green ladies

This is in response to the August 28 letter by Gary Folk.
Gary, God told me that he likes large, naked, green humans so I think you should check the facts before you jump to conclusions.
