Wear red for troops
Editor: Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts every Friday and continuing until the troops all come home, is that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red. By word of mouth, press, TV – let’s make the United States on every Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long before the USA is covered in red. Let’s get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and wear something red every Friday.

Thank you to Cramer
Editor: We would like to take a moment and give Cloverdale Police Chief Stephen Cramer a thank you for sharing a few minutes with us. He was gracious enough to share his goals for the police department as well as some of his philosophies. It is our hope that he can accomplish his goals, one of which is to see that the police department be a welcome addition to community activities. Their presence is often vital and always appreciated. It is our hope that we can continue to work with Chief Cramer and members of the department. He was willing to listen to us and receive our input even if we did not always agree. He was open to our concerns and suggestions as we expressed our opposition to far reaching marijuana deregulations, overreach of the city when it comes to our youth; for example roll away basketball hoops. He appears to be in tune with the need to make Cloverdale a place where our youth can be safe while having fun. Since we require youth to be respectful, they must also be respected.
We encourage all to support Chief Cramer and his department by having at least one blue light showing on our porch or over our garage as he has requested. This is especially important now with the current administration of our government fostering such disregard for those dressed in blue that serve to protect us.
Thank you Chief Cramer for sharing your good ideas and your intended implementation of them. We know that we speak for many of the citizens of Cloverdale in feeling safe and hopeful in our little town. Congratulations on your first anniversary as chief of police.
