Attend Project Meeting
Editor: There are four housing project proposals coming up before the Planning Commission Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. Three of these proposals are on Old Redwood Highway between Pleasant Avenue and Shiloh Road — Creek Walk, The Oaks and Shiloh Senior Living Center. These total 220 housing units and 20,000 square feet of Commercial Space. Creek Walk and The Oaks are planned to be two and three story rental apartment buildings. The Shiloh Senior Living Center is to be condos. The Windsor Community Development Director says rental apartments are needed. Is this the vision the Planning Commission has for our area of Windsor? Put all the high density housing on this side of town? Old Redwood will be apartment row? Burbank Housing already has a high density apartment complex in this area.
Old Redwood is already so busy it is difficult to get on and off safely. Will the Planning Commission go along because this is what the builders want? Is this what the people who live in this area want? Come to the meeting Sept. 18 at 5:30 p.m. Let your opinion be heard.

Student Loan Rates
Editor: I see a dichotomy in this country. On one hand, we want an educated citizenry, but, on the other hand, student loan interest rates are usurious. And apparently Congress will not allow these rates to be renegotiated. We can renegotiate interest rates on mortgages or car loans, but not student loans. And student loans cannot be dismissed in a bankruptcy. Who made these rules? What do my representatives in Congress have to say regarding this issue?
