Flight Path Out of Hand
Editor: Far be it for me to stand in the way of progress, however, the flight path of the ever increasing size of the Sonoma County Airport is getting out of hand. I moved my family to Windsor 16 years ago from Healdsburg largely in part of Windsor’s attention to family. At the time the airport was small and small planes overhead was cool, the Airshow so close was awesome as well. I see the expansion of the airport in progress and the planes are larger now with airlines coming in and more on the way. I have served in the military and am all too familiar with the flight path approaching air strips. It seems to me that now would be a great time to change the approach to the west vs. the east for incoming flights. The west is less populated and in the event of, God forbid, an emergency would be less of an impact on Windsor if the “Delta Fight Pattern” was established to the west now during expansion of the airport.
