Ceres benefit invitation
Editor: I would like to invite the community to what promises to
be a wonderful evening on Saturday, June 26 at Coffee Catz,
Sebastopol, 7 to 9:30 pm. It’s a benefit for The Ceres Community
Project, where teenagers cook for people with life-threatening
illnesses. (Last year 108 teen chefs cooked thousands of meals for
124 clients.)
We’ll be treated to a galaxy of poets and musicians, including
Gwynn O’Gara, Sonoma County poet laureate, Larry Robinson, Phyllis
Meshulam, and Kay Krista interwoven with musicians, Hoytus Rolen
(latest CD “High Fly”), Tui Wilshinsky (Sufi dance), Jonny G and
His Ukulele, Jim Wilson (recorder), songwriters Judith Moon, Nicole
Barbolak, Paul Henry and Laura Schafer, flautist Martha Krones, and
other guests. You’re welcome to drop by for even just a few
minutes.
If you know you can’t be there, I’d like to ask you to consider
making a donation to this fantastic project. Why Ceres? I’ve
experienced their service first hand. A year ago, when my health
was poor, fresh, warm meals were delivered by volunteers to my
door. I have Crohn’s disease, which affects one’s intestines/guts.
It’s also been a great teacher over the years.
You can learn more about this project at www.ceresproject.org. You can
mail a donation payable to the Ceres Community Project either to
me, at 11000 Falstaff Rd. Sebastopol, CA 95472, or directly to
Ceres Community Project, PO Box 1562, Sebastopol, CA 95473.

Thank you voters
Editor: On Tuesday, June 8, residents in the Russian River Fire
Protection District approved Measure F, saving our emergency
services. This means our fire house will continue to be staffed 24
hours a day, 7 days a week with highly trained medical technicians
and fire fighters. Measure F committee members, Russian River Fire
Protection District Board Members, and fire district employees
would like to express sincere appreciation to the community for
their support.
