Sham review
Editor: I would just like to comment on how the Design Review Board and City Council has ignored all of their staff recommendations and the cities own rules and regulations that govern the decision making guidelines for approving development projects. Both DRB and the Council have made a sham out of a fair and impartial review of the Pellini project, they have totally ignored all guidelines and staff input and inserted their own personal opinions as to the merits of the project. This is wrong and should be challenged by the developer. This type of government is repressive and clearly not in the best interest of the community. They have an opportunity to correct this July 17 and 19. Will they find the wisdom and some think courage to do what is best for the community and allow this project to proceed?

Better public transport
Editor: I would like to take this space to publicly thank several persons who have made riding the Sebastopol Shuttle a much pleasanter experience. Finally, a bus stop has been created at Sebastopol’s Rite-Aid and Main Street. Hurrah. Those who don’t depend on buses have no idea what a wonderful addition this is. Our thanks go to Burbank resident, Flavio Moura, to Sarah Gurney of the City Council, to Bryan Albee of Sonoma County Transit and to Supervisor Efren Carrillo. Thank you for your efforts.
Now, we could really have a Utopian shuttle bus if we had the promised stop at Pacific Market/Credit Union; the proposed sheltered stop equidistant between the Senior Center and the Library were made. And, if we’re not asking too much, perhaps those same good fairies who gave us the Rite-Aid stop could give us a drive-through at Gravenstein Station.
