LETTERS TO THE EDITOR 7-26-12

Children left in running car, Unreal
Editor:  Last Wednesday I was walking to Safeway, next to the Chase Bank I see this lady pull up to a Handicap Parking space and then jumped out of her car and head for Starbucks. As I looked closer I noticed she did not have a sticker, looking even closer I noticed the car running, and Now I see 2 young children in the back seat.
I felt I should stick around. I looked at my watch and was interested in how long she would be. Twelve minutes went by and the little girl in the back seat opened her door to get out and told me she was getting very warm. I informed her to get back in the car and roll the window down, I did not want to do this, I have seen Bait Car.
I called 911, shortly there after the fire department showed up, then two police cars and still no mom.
Twenty two minutes later she comes out. By then the officers had the children out to get some air.
I explained to her that:
#1 She has no clue on what sort of world we live in.
#2 To leave her kids in a car is criminal, a running opened car as well. Is she out of her freaking mind?
#3 Seeing veterans loosing limbs in Vietnam as I have, she would think twice before she parked here.  UNREAL !
