Do it while you are breathing
Editor: The tragedy of the Animal Shelter in Healdsburg is a cautionary tale for millionaires. They cannot control the world from the grave. Rodney Strong and his wife donated millions to build the animal shelter, but it was poorly done. The money was wasted. The buildings are testaments to the futility of trying to influence the Earth after one is dead.
I have seen this before with Foundations founded by billionaires, who’s legacies are soon enough taken over by functionaries who only want bigger salaries from the fund.
My advice for the many millionaires in the area is, “Do it while you are breathing if you want to do something kind.”
