What water?
Editor: One would think that if a family were away from home and not using Windsor’s water, this would be reflected in the water bill. Not so, unfortunately. This is the second time we’ve returned home after a lengthy absence and been surprised by our water bill from the Town of Windsor. The first time, we were away for five out of the eight weeks of the billing cycle; our bill went down $3. Someone in customer service told me this must be due to leaky faucets or someone stealing water in the middle of the night. Really? I live on the Town Green where there’s no place to do a stealthy, late night water raid and there were no leaks.
This month, we received our bill for March and April. We were out of town for the entire month of April and our bill went up! Living in the Town Green means we don’t have a yard, nor do we wash our car in the driveway we don’t have. All I’d like from the Town of Windsor is an explanation instead of an attempt to put the issue back in my court. The only leak I see that shouldn’t be there is in my bank account when I pay the water bill.

Call for Artists
Editor: I’m the coordinator for the Art Show at the 3rd Annual Fall Arts Festival, sponsored by the Mark West Education Foundation. The Fall Arts Festival will be held on Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cardinal Newman High School. We would like to post a “Call to Artists” in your paper, specifically the Art Gallery section, to announce the show to Artists so that they may sign up for the show. I’m attaching the “Call to Artists” which contains all the information.

One Taxi Town
Editor: I’ve taken a long time to get this to you. On February 5, the senior bus was late, it was raining and I couldn’t get the last shuttle. I had the manager of Raley’s call the cab, requesting a pick up at the store. His reply (the cab) said it would be an hour. I ended up walking home to Vine Crest with 1 gallon of milk in the rain. I’m 81-years-old. It’s too bad we have a one-taxi town. The shuttle is wonderful but it stops running too early for a lot of older people who live in Windsor.
