A serious issue
Editor: I should like to complement the authors of the recent commentary entitled “Pension reform in Healdsburg.” This article provided more facts and greater insight than anything I have seen to date. This is a very serious problem that must be addressed NOW to ensure the long term viability of the city and future wellbeing of its residents. I found the plan offered by this article for control of the pension liability to be wholly rational and reasonable for all parties involved. The City Council must address this issue head on and no delays or half-hearted responses are acceptable. Time is of the essence. In a very real sense, each council member will be measured by his/her ability to set aside personal interests for the larger interests of the city of Healdsburg. This is a very serious issue that demands everyone’s attention.
