Palm Drive is hip
Editor: This is an open letter to the residents of West County to remind them of the wonderful resources we have in our small medical community. I recently had a total hip replacement at Palm Drive hospital and am doing very well. I have no restrictions since it was an anterior approach and all three of Sebastopol’s orthopedists are trained to do this procedure and Palm Drive has the special table required for the operation. There is no need to go to Stanford or other facilities when we have the capabilities of doing it here in Sebastopol and also have excellent physical therapists available.
I’ve been a nurse in Sebastopol for over 30 years and have been so blessed to be able to work with caring, well-trained doctors here. My recent hospitalization proved once again that we get wonderful care here. I had surgery on Monday morning and went home on Tuesday afternoon. If I am so inclined, I can do Zumba and/or Yoga, squat, cross my legs, bend over and flex my hip and my hip won’t dislocate. I saw the surgeon 10 days after surgery and don’t have to return for a year.
Thank you to all of my health care providers for your excellent care. Not only do we live in paradise, but we also have angels of mercy ready to care for us as needed. God bless them all for their expertise and dedication to their profession.
