Peer tutoring
Editor: I am a student at Windsor High School. The school is a wonderful learning environment. Being at this school, I’ve seen a lot of students struggle with their grades. I’ve interviewed a couple of students and I’ve come to the conclusion that the number one reason for this is that they don’t understand the teacher or the lesson. I’ve suggested peer tutoring.
Most students cannot afford paying for a tutor and although the teachers can help, most students don’t understand. There are also a lot of students that need credits to graduate. Peer tutoring allows students to get tutored by their fellow classmates who need credits and are willing to give up their time to help students that are struggling. In the generation we live in students seem to learn better when other students that are their age explains the situation.
Peer tutoring is a good way for students who cannot afford a tutor to receive the help they need and also for students who need credits to graduate to receive them. I am suggesting the idea of a tutor because I myself have a struggle with classes and cannot afford a tutor.
