Editor: Our Lady of Guadalupe Church will conduct an ongoing series called, “Catholics Returning Home” on six consecutive Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. beginning Jan. 8, 2015. These sessions are for non practicing Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to the church. There will be informal sharing and an update of the Catholic faith. Finally, rain!
Editor: Finally—after sitting in half an inch of water in the bathtub, and finally —after soaping and then turning on the shower water and finally after spritzing the ferns and begonias, for one minute, instead of three minutes, and finally after washing the dishes in leftover vegetable water, and finally —after squeezing the hose and dribbling little trickles of rivulets over the carrots and tomatoes and peas in the garden all summer, and finally—after scooping and spooning, scooping and spooning old toothbrush water into the plants on the windowsill, and finally—after turning off the valve at the back of the toilet, in between flushes – and finally – after rinsing out my socks in the dog’s water, and carefully saving old ice cubes in a bucket for my car radiator for days and weeks finally, finally, finally, finally,—it rained!
