Thank You Windsor
Editor: Thank you Windsor, Cali students, staff and families for making our 6th annual Cali Calmécac Language Academy Move-a-thon so successful. Thanks to their participation, we were able to combine a fun family event with health advocates from the community: United Way’s 211 program, Pediatric Dental Initiative, and Alliance Medical Center. Saint Joseph’s mobile program Promotores de Salud featured Rethink your snack and Whole Foods, Oliver’s and Trader Joe’s donated fruit. Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn and Suites donated ice to keep people and food cool. Activity leaders such as Yoga Haus, UJam by Cali Kicks Martial Arts Academy, Lansing’s Martial Arts and Zumba by Delia kept the students moving.
Other business sponsors this year included Hopscotch Shoes for kids, George and Rachel Valenzuala, Escuela de Futbol Atletico de Santa Rosa, Nationwide Real Estate Tax Services! Inc., Dyche Custom Concrete Inc., Alternative Family Services Inc., Santa Rosa, R McClure Electric Inc., Calpine Corporation, Fleet Feet, Redwood Credit Union Windsor, The Plaza on Lakewood Windsor’s Professional Center, Kumon Math and Reading Center, Wells Fargo Bank Windsor, Exchange Bank Windsor, Huntington Learning Center Windsor and Santa Rosa as well as the Cali Calmécac PTA.
A final big thank you to the John Jordan Foundation that offered Cali Calmécac a $25,000 technology grant that Cali PTA can now match and K-8th students will see updated equipment in their classrooms.
Gratefully,
Jennifer Berndt
Move-a-thon Coordinator
